In decent horror movies there's that build up that gets you on the edge of your seat, builds tension, raises the hair on the back of your neck, right before the ghost appears and when it does, it sends shivers down your spine. JU-ON: Origins doesn't have that. The acting isn't top notch. Eg: Door that was closed before is opened a bit "wasn't that door closed??" as the guy points at the door and makes this face :O There are some domestic violence scenes in the series, like the story in the movie. What's interesting is how when the guys beat the women it's as if he's fighting to win the UFC championship. If you're like me and enjoys watching something to help you sleep, this might be just right for you.
