I so appreciate some of the differences in this version compared to the original and live action version! Firstly, the cast is much more diverse and so is the soundtrack. Secondly, he’s not a complete jerk to his dog Max, and it’s much more bearable because of that. The redemption at the end is so much more moving than the original, as well. In my opinion, this one wins.
