The show has great characters, intricate plots, and wonderful attention to detail. As an American, it is often difficult to follow, even with closed captioning turned on. I guess part of it is due to its gritty British/Irish slang and references. But that sort of makes it fun too - a bit like looking over the shoulders of foreign detectives.

This was probably the worst TV show I have had the unfortunate experience of watching. I am no prude, but the show clearly substitutes religious mockery for humor. Too bad the two lead actors chose this as their vehicle to end otherwise good careers.

I just watched the first part of S9 E14, which aired on February 1, and found it to be unwatchable. The show should adopt a new tagline: promoting progressive paranoia. Or perhaps, the real victim of five-oh is the viewer. I am so tired of shows mindlessly pushing an agenda instead of telling a good story.
