The movie meandered aimlessly at the beginning. Vijay Sethupathi's role seemed more impactful than Vijay's as the latter appeared 'irrelevant'.
To portray Vijay as a careless drunkard but being 'inspirational' to students is ambiguous and poorly conceived.
The background music is horrible: it's pure "noise". It's hard to believe that Anirudh is so hyped up for his music has always been ordinary. He is light-years away from Ilaiyaraja, Deva, A R Rahman, or for that matter S A Rajkumar, Bhardwaj and Chandrabose.
Anirudh is just noise, noise and just noise.
Overall, you can watch this movie if you're a Vijay fan.
The movie doesn't live up to its hype.
It's an ordinary film. The acting, in general, is not persuasive either - this is probably because of the disjointed storyline.
