Really great adaptation of the book. By far the best one to date. The visuals, music and sound effects, and dialogue were perfect, some of the best CGI I've ever seen, and it had half the budget of the Force Awakens. This film took some of the best aspects from Lynch's Dune and brought in new ideas of its own as well. The screenplay is also very accurate to the book. The only gripes I have are that some key character scenes were omitted, namely (minor spoilers for the book) the dinner scene and some scenes with Dr. Yueh (like the one where he gives Paul the Orange Catholic Bible on the way to Arrakis). I think these would have built up the characters more before the Harkonnen attack, especially allowing for further development of Kynes, Hawat, Gurney, and Yueh, characters who were very underdeveloped in this film.
I am excited to see part 2
