I have to say after watching the first 3 episodes of "The Offer" on Paramount+ it's one hell of series. It really has that Rocky vibe to it where the making of "The Godfather" truly is an underdog story where one producer Albert Ruddy has to go through hundred different obstacles to make a cinematic masterpiece that will stand the test of time. I just love how each episode shows the battle Albert has to go through trying to get this film made. It's as if once he wins a battle another obstacle comes in the way to prevent this film from being made. Matthew Goode's Robert Evans is also another thorn Ruddy has to fight who is this stubborn Paramount president who is preventing the film being made. The behind the scenes red tape, bureaucracy is always the challenge when it comes to filmmaking and seeing those re-enactments being played out is just amazing to watch. Every actor, actress, are bringing their A game to the characters they are portraying in this limited series. Watching this series you can tell it's a business where producers, presidents are just hungry for money and are not focused on artistic side of storytelling. They don't have the patience to even look at the script which is a disappointment. In the third episode I loved when Francis said something in the vain of "What's the point of hiring to direct this film when you are not allowing me to bring my vision to the screen...". You can see Francis cares about the quality in storytelling by making it a multi-layered story with characters having to go through their own battles and the producers just want a stereotypical gangster film with no character storytelling. I feel this show captures the inner workings of all the bureaucracy that goes on in a studio perfectly. It's worth the watch.
