I didn't expect the worst movie of my life from Srijit. The same person has gifted us movies like 'Autograph', 'Rajkahini', 'Jatishwar', 'Chotushkon', 'Baishe Srabon'. These movies reflect his impeccable directorial and story telling abilities. But I don't know what the director was trying to showcase with the movie 'Oti Uttam'. Missing storyline has taken the movie to nowhere. It seems the director was just trying the experiment the capabilities of GenAI on movies. Had it been only about an AI application, I would have never commented on this as stories are the sole right and choice for directors. However, I couldn't take the scenes what he has portrayed about Uttam Kumar starting from flirting, dating with atleast 3-4 generations younger girl to hug and finally sleeping / living togather. Is this what he deserves? Making such rubbish movies on legends only shows disrespect to them. This is as disrespectful as playing Rabindranath Sangeet in traffic signals. I feel pity for Gourab that he agreed to sign for a movie where his own legendary grandfather is humiliated.

Century old Widow marriage was introduced rather compelled to be accepted socially by Vidyasagar , not Raja Rammohan Roy. This is so unfortunate to see that an world famous who is an Indian and moreover an educated woman is conveying a wrong information to the viewers. Vidyasagar was the person whose tireless struggle resulted today's women education as well as widow marriage,abrogation of child marriage and poly-marriage. Otherwise I loved the movie.
