Who doesn't love a Roman historical-drama? Yes it's based on fiction, but if you're going to tether it to history then have some historians and good writers.
Firstly, Assyrian didn't speak Arabic in the 1st Century AD. Secondly, the amount of religious cults at the time are underplayed. You only hear Fortuna, Jupiter and "the Hebrew God" throughout the series (that I can remember). The story tries and have it both ways I guess with the prayers from different peoples to "the gods", not at all how the prayers would have been offered.
The show just passed over the eruption of Mt Vesuvius, even though they built it up for a few episodes. A defining moment in the Imperial reign of Titus (which is the era of this drama).
I understand it is a work of fiction, but they got it right with a lot, but soooo wrong with a lot as well. Surely they pay people for this.
