This movie is not the strait up satirical comedy it claims to be in the trailer. It has a a great deal more depth of reality and sadness than the viewer will be expecting. At times this movie will leave you heartbroken and on the verge of tears at how a society can be so cruel so easily. The acting is solid especially by the lead (young JoJo). Still, the story losses pace and shows its unevenness due to the director trying to stretch a simple but important time's old story past 60 minutes: Nazis Bad, Non Nazis good. Simple but effective Jo Jo Rabbit will run you through the usual range of emotions that the horrors of war enact on the human soul. That being said Jo Jo does it well and will leave you feeling like you have heard this story before but, unfortunately, need to see, if not hear, it again. A final observation: Jo Jo Rabbit is unappologetically liberal. Wall Breakers will love it, Wall Builders will hate it.
