The film was beautifully produced with breathtaking documentary footage and compelling interviews with numerous experts.
As a 12-year vegan and 21-year vegetarian, I have long been familiar with many of the reasons highlighted in the film to personally eschew fish consumption and advocate for radical change to the industry -- but I also learned many new things. For example: Fishing equipment being the #1 source of ocean plastic pollution. The impact of industrial fishing on climate change. Human slavery in the fishing industry.
As with Cowspiracy before it, Seaspiracy's conspiracy premise, and the "gotcha" interviews with certain organizational representatives, do distract from the core message.
But overall, I highly recommend the film to everyone -- from those like me who consider themselves fairly knowledgeable on the subject matter, to those who had not previously considered the issues.
