Lori Kaplan – Google

I only give this a high rating because a lot of people like this genre of novels. I have a difficult time reading about the murder of young girls. Also, the author should have spoken with a dental professional to understand that the extraction of their teeth would not have been possible in the context it was written (trying to prevent a spoiler alert). I walked away from this book multiple times and kept returning because I had to know the outcome. I did figure it out early on but then a twist at the end I didn’t find too surprising.

As a native Oklahoman, this historical story was hard to watch. The greed of people was astounding yet, not new. I’m surprised the elders of the tribe allowed the interracial marriages. The acting was phenomenal. The ending was strange compared to the rest of the movie’s seriousness. 4 hours (including ads) in a movie theatre for one movie with no break, was difficult. Plan accordingly;) Oscar worthy.

I am a country fan. I couldn’t wait to see this and I couldn’t even get passed the second episode. The singing is not good. I wish they’d lip synced. Or voice dubbed. It’s a sad depressing story. I felt like I did with the horrible remake A Star is Born. What beautiful, talented woman would be captivated by a drunk? They can’t even form sentences and then Tammy allowed abuse? Sad sad sad. Too painful to think she didn’t respect herself more. She stayed with him for six years. I knew the story, idk why I thought I could watch this. And I was right. I couldn’t.
