Picnic, the movie, is another Hollyweird example of what middle-America was NOT in the 1950s. So much of what is wrong with our country (U.S.A.) today, can be traced back to this film (movie).

I really disliked this movie! It was very depressing to think that "wanna be" types look up to thugs as being a hero. It's even more depressing to learn that this movie was based on real life. Che schifo!

This film succeeds in so many ways. In spite of our differences, this film shows we are more alike that many of us may want to admit. It highlights the real challenges that minorities, immigrants, low-income families and isolated individuals face on a daily basis. It teaches us that the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness & self-control really matter in order to live a harmonious life. Superb acting by all.

If you are going to tell the story of the history of the CIA, tell the true story. This film whitewashes the truth.
