The film is sincere in its undertaking but it falls short in all aspects of its endeavors. It employs that pseudo docu-drama home video gimmick reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project. So the time line is somewhat in reverse. In short nothing new to see here.

I think this is the craziest mess I've ever witnessed. It's just crazy. Just enjoy the nonsense.

It's ok but a disappointment overall. The story doesn't even try to explain anything at all. If you like a story with some sense of logic or reason then this is not for you.

i feel like Netflix has to pay me to watch it not the other way. Liam Neeson is not a bad actor but he certainly gets himself into some boring roles just like this one here. Don't waste your time or electricity. I don't know what Larry Fishburne is doing here.

A good director makes good movies and occasionally couldn't quite complete what he started. Because he is just human. Just like Twin Peaks the series, I think Mulholland Drive the first half is quite interesting and then the second half is like all right let's just complete the movie and make a movie out of it. Lynch starts out with a detective story much like Twin Peaks but some how some where his mind wanders and couldn't quite complete them. They are interesting nevertheless but not quite complete. For comparison, Blue Velvet is a more complete movie. I feel less cheated watching Blue Velvet.

This is as bad as it got. The story is tired and follows the exact same trajectory of old terminator movies. It's a poor caricature of self. Absolutely horrendous from beginning to end.

This is a prequel to the The Silence of the Lambs (1991), still not an origin story of Lector, for the guy simply happens. Dragon as a movie happens a decade after Lambs so you can see Lector played by Hopkins kind of ages backwards. Ralph Fiennes plays the eponymous character, a damaged soul with an overbearing grandmother. His job gives him the vantage view to case his potential victims. The cast is superb and the plot as is is on par with the Lambs. Just like Lambs I think it holds up well over time and repeat viewings.

This to me is obviously a remake or a tribute to Poltergeist (1982) or a ripoff if one is being harsh. The movie doesn't surprise or exceed Poltergeist in any shape or form.

If you love cinema, Chinese Kung Fu and the origin of Ip Man, then check out WKW's Grandmaster (2013). Master Z has some good fight sequences but that's pretty much it. Michele Yeoh gave her best performance in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and from there on everything kind of goes flat or downhill. Her saber performance here is reminiscent of the phenomenal courtyard fight sequence between her and Zhang ziyi in CTHD. Yuen is a world renowned fight choreographer but he can't squeeze the best performance out of his actors. Master Z is weak in acting and storytelling. The art direction is just too glossy and looks trying too hard and too fake.

I am not a gamer but the structure of Ozark is pretty much in the same vein of a video game as I imagine it would be: the protagonists have to keep clearing obstacles or else game over. Basically it's crisis after crisis, non-stop crisis. Minor characters fall and drop dead as the series progress, that's the gist of it. The only thing that keeps the show grounded and lends some credibility is that of a Honda Odyssey which the couple drives the entire three seasons through good times and bad times.
