I had a reader’s block for the longest time but this book has finally done the trick for me. Mysterious with a grim sense of humour. I love how Riley creates these characters that all have a purpose in the storytelling no matter how irrelevant they seem. The plot twists were completely unpredictable, it’s Daniel Steel meets Gillian Flynn for me. Finished it in three reads.

It was more of a thriller than a horror movie to me. However the story was in depth and you have to pay attention to the minute details while watching. I loved how they incorporated a brand new level of fear factor ie not related to spirits / demons etc. Definitely a love story.
