I really enjoyed this movie. At first, because of the title, and the promotional movie poster with its cliché “There’s something wrong with Miles” handle, I expected this movie to be your typical demon-possesses-adopted-child horror (like Orphan or The Omen)... which almost discouraged me from going to see it. But I was dragged by my family to the theaters, and I realized early on that there was a new and unique angle to this particular “evil-child” thriller that I REALLY appreciated!!! Now granted, this special “prodigy” kid exhibits pretty much the same malicious behavior patterns as your usual young demoniac, but I actually found this particular diagnosis a lot CREEPIER than that of a demon possessed kid. In fact, the storyline behind this kid’s malevolent nature is pretty cinematically unique and new. The movie as a whole may have lacked some plot potency and dimension, but it’s spooky and intriguing enough to keep you interested till the end. Speaking of which, if they don’t plan on making a sequel, then the ending is definitely a massive disappointment. But with the hope of a part two in the future, the ending will do just fine.
