I have a lot to say but not a lot of time so I’ll say this: they made the actress playing the ugly version of Mo-mi act with her exact face. They didn’t add any prosthetics or typical elements that would normally make someone look weirder (which btw they used on the male pervert character), they just used her face as it is. How disturbing? Trying to make a statement about societal standards of beauty while using someone’s actual face to set the standard for ugly and repeatedly have other characters mock her face saying she’s uglier than they had imagined. It’s so wrong and I feel horrible for the actress - and for anyone who looks like her (which btw there are MANY women and young girls who look like her) - and how they would feel with this portrayal of a very NORMAL LOOKING woman as having a face that “looks like an orc” . It’s awful. I watched My ID is Gangnam Beauty and when they talked about her being “ugly” they fully blurred her face or didn’t show it. It was up to the viewers imagination. In True Beauty they gave her acne which worked because the point was that without the acne she was a “goddess”. Anyway, my point here is this shouldn’t be ok. Using someone who looks completely normal as the standard for ugly is so harmful to so many girls and negates the point the film is trying to make. The actual show was quite interesting, not sure why the writer and director decided to go with that tangent but it was interesting enough, although a little sadistic (and for no reason). There’s so much more they could’ve done with the show. They went with trying to make it as sad and as unrealistic as possible (I mean why kill Mi-mo’s whole family???). Still interesting though, with great actors and marvellous visuals.

Very frustrating to watch, I have sooo many questions. The writers were so fixated on making us feel sad that they forgot to make the deaths meaningful. It felt like they were yelling “oh this person is dead now cry!”. A lot of the deaths in the end were just stupid, and Namra’s end makes zero sense. She compared being a half zombie to being a person who is neither a child nor an adult? Like???? And her mom, the politician who donated money to the school in order to make her daughter ‘class prez’ never once mentioned her childs name during or after the virus breakout. And why did the chief soldier dude kill himself? That’s what I wanna know? He had no reason to. He was so evil that he wanted the soldiers to shoot the innocent kids at the school when he found out some people were asymptomatic, yet he still felt so much remorse about the (very necessary) zombie bombings that he decided to off himself immediately after without a second thought? And if he had kids why would he order the soldier to shoot the students in the first place for no reason? The main girl was obsessed with one guy then got angry at her best friend cause he told her he loved her and even right at the end she gave him NOTHING. But then after he died she wrote his name on a tree and said “I Love You” LOL! Ok that aside, why was the evil guy so fixated on destroying just one person? Everyone in that squad injured him severely but no, he needed to specifically kill Cheong san because.. and here’s the kicker… he took a video of him on a phone that no longer worked and was completely destroyed and he also wanted to prove he was not a loser??? Get very serious. This was a 5 at best. So much potential but so painfully meaningless as a whole. And also (last point I promise) they kept changing different characters from good to evil and back to good FOR NO REASON. And how did everyone survive so long without food OR water? Side note (I’m sorry I just have so much to say 😭😭😭): why did the girl with the bangs (who spoke 5 words throughout the show) survive out of all the other characters? She had no story, no friendships… legit an extra who should’ve been k*led off ages ago. Sorry for the rant and have a lovely day.

An 86% rating is criminal. I can't believe it took me so long to watch this. What a beautifully written show, Hae-yeong Park is incredibly talented. In fact, the only reason I gave in and decided to watch this was because I had just finished My Liberation Notes and I realised she'd written this too. She masterfully creates dramas where every character is relatable and loveable despite their flaws - which btw they don't even overcome - and that's what I love most. The characters are simply accepted and loved for being odd, problematic and (most of all) pitiful. It's like telling people "Yes you're a mess, but it's ok, everyone is". If you can extend that grace to yourself it becomes easier to extend it to others. Anyway, excellent show, 10/10 in my book.

If you watch this show at the wrong time you could honestly miss out on one of the greatest viewing experiences of your life. The timing has to be right and you have to come into it with zero expectations. I see all the one star reviews are complaints that it’s slow or not amusing enough. This isn’t an entertaining show, it’s one of those pieces of art (and tbh I hate using the word art to describe film and tv) that has to come to you at the right time, in the right place. It’s a piece of life. It’s just there. It’s like sitting outside a shop on a high street and watching people pass by throughout the day. I would rate this higher than CLOY - which is arguably the greatest kdrama of all time - but I also can’t compare them. I can say this though, it meant more to me than any other drama I’ve ever seen and it got me through one of the hardest moments in my life. I hope it does the same for someone else.

5 stars but why why why why why???? I just don’t understand why people can’t live happily ever after in kdramas. This show had such strong 25/21 vibes and they both end in the worst way possible. I’m so upset. Sad endings are unnecessary, he could’ve had another excuse for not finding her like maybe he had no way of contacting her and finally sees her when they’re 45. It still sucks but everything sucks less than death. I am upset.

This Kinsey guy performed sexual experiments on infants. Literally babies less than a year old. How tf are we making films to celebrate him???

The first 10 episodes are a completely different show from the last 10 episodes. This would have easily been my favourite drama of all time if they didn’t do all that fumbling midway through the show. My blood was boiling when his agent locked him in his room for 2 whole episodes. I’ve never been so irritated by a tv show. I also kinda wished he had just survived. His death/illness was a bit pointless especially since there was so much other stuff going on. If they’d just created a last minute life saving surgery it could’ve wrapped this up so well. And another thing, I’m sick of the “see you in my next life” nonsense because the next life is soooooo far away. Everyone will have to die and be reborn at the exact right time to see each other - and even then, your next life could be in India or Antarctica, there is no promise that you’ll be surrounded by the same souls in your next life. But even if you were so lucky to be born into the exact same type of life with the same people YOU WONT REMEMBER EACH OTHER or the silly promises you made to “be better friends.” It just annoys me so so so much. Just do it all right now for the love of God 😭😭 Anyway, 8/10… but tbh it’s kind of a 10 I’m just mad about episodes 11-19 which were a waste of my time, energy and resources.

Felt like a fever dream. So the Aliens came to earth to help Louise??? Idk what it was but the film didn't feel finished. All that hullabaloo just to help one human figure out that her unborn daughter would eventually die? What was so special about Louise? Because honestly, other than that how did the Aliens help humans enough to receive future help in 3000 years? Everyone other than Louise still had no clue why they were on earth. The Puzzle was also never completed, they just agreed to complete it.

I can’t believe it’s over, I’m so sad. I was unfortunate enough to stumble upon this series 49 days before part 2 came out and let me just say time has never moved slower. I watched part one 3 times before part 2 came out… I was literally counting down the days to March 10th just so I could see Dong-eun win! I needed her to win, it was personal!😭🤌🏾✨ Honestly truly from the bottom of my heart I couldn’t recommend this show more! Everything was just so perfectly executed. The plot, the characters… omg the CHARACTERSSSS. I have never hated a set of people more than I hated those 5 kids. And Yeon Jin!!!!!! What a villain! I think she deserves an award for being the most evil villain out of all the evil villains in every movie/ tv show ever made. Every time her face popped up my body temperature would go up at least 1 degree. PURE EVIL. The devil himself couldn’t write a more evil character. In the first episode Dong-eun said her face is what hatred looks like and tbh I agree bcz that’s all I felt for her, HATE! 😂😂😂 But the actresses playing her were also extremely beautiful so at some point towards the end I think I did feel like 0.000001% empathy (the mom scene was low-key sad but I’m not shedding any tears) but it quickly disappeared as soon as she opened her mouth. Anyway what I loved the most about this series wasn’t even the story (which btw is a 10/10) but the satisfaction at the end. My goshhh. Have you ever just needed something to go a certain way so badly and then IT DOES?!!!! 😭😭 No bittersweet/ open ended/ tragic/ confusing ending that so many shows keep trying (and failing at -btw). Everything worked out beyond my expectations. Every single one of them suffered and I’ve never celebrated another persons pain like I did theirs. I think I became a little evil while watching the show because the thoughts I was thinking???!!! At some point I even hated the baby. But then I took a deep breath and checked myself 😪 To conclude: Beautiful, perfect, amazing, excellent, incredible, must see … etc. Just watch the damn show ⭐️⭐️🍿

I’m not sure why I put off watching this for so long, because it was actually amazingggggggg! I laughed so hard I was crying, especially at how annoying she was being when she was trying to hide her identity 😂😂😂. And normally HATE annoying comedy like that, it’s probably my worst genre of entertainment, but I found myself literally having to pause to catch my breath from laughing so much. I also maybe assumed it would be like “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” (which was so unbearably cringe and unwatchable) but it was honestly just so good… great plot, great characters, great storyline. 10/10 if you ask me. ALSO: there weren’t too many bcde plotlines or silly twists or typical cringe kdrama moments which always just drag out the show. 12 episodes of actual content 😭🤌🏾 Anyway, If you’re reluctant to watch it just give the first couple of episodes a shot. Maybe put it on as a pass time…. just don’t skip it 💖
