Before reading this novel, please update/ study about the Orthodox -Jacobite conflict; otherwise it will be quite tough to understand the novel. The story happens in a small village of Pathanamthitta called mathalir. The story many delves into orthodox Jacobite conflict. The story is presented in a sarcastic way. Being a Christian who has only basic idea about this dispute, initially I found it difficult to understand.
