If a book could define the word Fantasy, The Colour of Magic would do just perfectly. It's hard for me to believe that Rincewind isn't off existing in an alternative universe where conscious treasure chests are more loyal than Batman's Alfred.

It's always great reading a book where a mystery lingers just outside your grasp, constantly enticing the reader to journey forward. The Silent Patient does just that, and rewards you wonderfully for pressing on.

WHAT AN ADVENTURE. Never boring. Colorful characters. Intriguing world. And a twist as twisty as twists can twist.

While I enjoyed the novel to begin with, about a quarter the way through I was wading through paragraphs upon paragraphs of repetitive description. This book dragged on. Howey could have told the same story in 300, not 500, pages.
