*SPOILER FREE REVIEW*
MADNESS.
If you thought that the first 2 seasons were mind-boggling, you haven't seen anything yet. The final season of 'Dark' is nothing but art in its purest form for lovers of the sci-fi genre.
If the previous seasons were about characters trying to unravel the mystery behind the whole time travel saga, season 3 is all of that and more. The turn of events across the cycles - spanning from 1890 to 2050s - are like moves in a game of chess, which for me was the key highlight. Watch out for episode #7.
The introduction of the parallel universe concept (something we saw a glimpse of at the end of season 2) means that the storytelling is different and even more complex this time. Which also means that it's impossible to talk anything about the plot without giving away any spoilers. So we're gonna just leave it here. Make sure you take breaks in between if you're planning to 'binge-watch' as it might get a bit too overwhelming considering the points mentioned above. Giving it your undivided attention is the key.
I've always been a huge fan of the casting team of 'Dark'. It's like you're watching young, adult and old versions of the same people and it never strikes you that these are just different actors acting out their part. It's spooky yet satisfying at the same time. The actors are once again in top form, like we all expected.
More power to the show's writers. To think of such a complicated storyline. And to unravel it and then wrap it up in such a beautiful manner is beyond commendable. I hope they get their due recognition and more people start realising that writers are the soul of any content, whether it's on the big screen, TV or OTT platforms.
