Character development? makeup? irrelevant characters! back story? Dear oh dear! Unconvincing storyline. Terrible movie. It felt like so many scenes were left on the editing floor which explains the loose script. Would you really keep an "unbalanced detective" in the FBI? What happened in the 16 years? How did she meet Ethan? Why wait 16 years to catch Silas? On the 2nd botch job bank robbery why didn't she just shoot the getaway van's tires. So many loose holes and what was the painted stomach at the end about? I thought I was watching a remake of Alien!!! I watched the interview with Nicole Kidman on the graham norton show and she explained how intense the character was and how her husband couldn't wait for the film to be over so she could leave the character behind. I'm an actress and I didn't see any depth or indeed characterisation. The crying scene with her daughter seemed forced. The rest of the film she just grunted. A very disappointing film. The trailer had the whole film in it. I should've stayed at home and filed my nails!
