Not horribly dark or scarry, but something like a mashup of Labyrinth (1986), Dr. Who, and Twilight Zone if done by the lighter side of Steven King. A surreal journey of a young teen dealing with divorce and disappointment toward self actualization. If you want kid safe cerebral strangeness give this one a try.
