It is filled with dark humor and he has filled it with a beautiful simplicity that draws the readers so deeply into the book. Every reader is bound to get perplexed after they lay their hands in this masterpiece.

Khuswant Singh is at his best in his novel, "Train to Pakistan." It is simply pristine in its beauty. The ending is bound to leave you in tears, showing the unity of Hindus and Muslims. This book is a poignant pointer towards the contemporary state of affairs. Nevertheless, it is a highly recommended saga on the ill fated vivisection of India and a heart-rending document of a gory time which makes it a enthralling read.
