It’s good but not brilliant. The music, clothes and idea are all great. The characters are one dimensional and poorly executed. Mint Ma is just not good enough. She’s no Aunt Polly. No single character has charisma. I don’t think it will see the distance for a season 2.

This is England is a masterpiece. It’s everything I remember from my childhood good and bad. I have just revisited watching them all again and nearly fell short of watching the final one as I could not bring myself to sit through the final scenes with Milk and Combo. I was inconsolable before. Both characters broke my heart. My heart was ripped out punched up the walls and left there for hours. if you want to see why there are no winners with racism take the time to watch this.
