The golden thread of storyline is loose and in some places missing... The experience of being ’trained’ has been replaced with a simple hand over of a cloak and dagger and basically told to get on with it... Some areas are only accessible when you have completed a separate quest, however this point is not explained in the game (only via YouTube clips from other players).... Ive spent hours in the game at this point, and am at a loss as to where the story (or I) am going...
Previous items in the franchise presented a range of antagonists, this has been replaced with [again] a map and being instructed to crack on with finding out who the antagonists are (in a sandbox, with no steer as to why you should visit an area or why you should be emotionally bothered)...
Proving to be a painful experience... not sure how it has garnered a 3.6 google review rating or a 92% in ign.
That being said... it looks pretty!!! Seems we are focusing more on aesthetics that story nowadays!!!
