The Yokai Watch franchise is not a Pokemon ripoff, Pokemon did not create and does not own the monster collecting genre of video games. With that being said Yokai Watch 2 is an improvement of the original game with quality of life changes and a new (and a little "friendship can overcome all" cheesy) story to expand upon the universe that can and will pull you in the games interesting world. With the 200+ hours and 100% completion I have garnered playing this game I can only think of three things I didn't really enjoy, that being the level scaling, befriending Yokai, and online battling. Level scaling especially (Unless I'm the reason why level scaling has failed me in which case you can probably ignore that) In conclusion this game immerses you into a slice of life world with interesting characters in every corner with engaging gameplay.
