A heroic lead up to A New Hope. Different in tone from the original — grittier and more urgent on the level of the personal stories. As a prequel, I felt this added real depth to A New Hope. I loved this film. It stuck with me for weeks and had me coming back over and over to the sacrifices and arcs in these characters lives. I know it can’t live up to what we remember of our experiences back when we first saw the original trilogy, but I think this fits in beautifully to the Star Wars tapestry.
