As a huge fan of James Heriot I do love this adaptation. One quibble, some realism about the typical climate at Christmas would be a big improvement! From the bare arms and low-necked dresses it's obvious that no matter how careful with other details no-one on the production team has any idea how warmly folk needed to dress before central heating, not only outdoors but also in - any distance from the fire, if not wearing woolly layers, one would freeze!
Also very much wishing that James would wear a scarf and hat, he really needs them out in the icy blast on the Yorkshire moors.
Brrr!
