I will give it more than 1 star for the ending. However, the movie really misses its target audience. It is NOT a kids movie. The undertones and themes are NOT for kids. It’s not an adult movie just due to the nature of imaginary friends. Clearly not an adolescent movie, so I have no idea what Krasinski and Reynolds were thinking. The scenes just seem inserted in certain places with pacing being an absolute nightmare. I left the theatre with an array of questions because the movie did not address many details that were stated. If the rest of them voice was like the ending, which was a bit emotional, I would give it 4 or 5 stars. But, 9/10 was a mess and I would say don’t go.
