I've watched American Greed for a long time. Tonight was my last. The producers of this show have their own greed. Call it the HULU Greed Factor, which is actually the Disney Greed Factor.. The episode that I watched tonight, "The B-Girls of Miami," was nearly unwatchable. A 60 minute show with 5 commercials of 4 1/2 minutes each, which meant the actual show was only 37.5 minutes. WAY too distracting to watch. The tonight's episode showed how these B-Girls spiked the drink of their "mark" who became so intoxicated with that first drink that he was duped into having his American Express card charged repeatedly for excessive charges. Example: a bottle of wine charge of $1800, plus tax, plus "gratuity" of $496.00. In a side bar on the screen, the cost of that same bottle of wine was noted to be $3.00 at a local market. Each charge rang up exorbitant charges, Ka-ching, ka-ching. Just what HULU was doing each time a commercial break came on, which incidentally, showed the same commercials over and over and over and over. Enough to drive a sane person nuts. I'm done with this series. If you have half a brain, you'll stay away. Tomorrow I look for another TV provider. HULU was excellent until Disney bought it. Now it's nothing more than a money grab with no concern for their viewers.

Very interesting movie with excellent directing and filming. I watched this movie last night (a TCM offering), but I first saw it back in the mid '80's in a real movie house down in Los Angeles on a big screen. For some reason, there were parts in this movie that have stuck in my mind all these years. Marty's one line on the phone to Ray who's lying in bed with his wife at the time, "Havin' a good time?" Then he hangs up. Another thing I remembered was the camera angle showing the backs of the bartender's sneakers as he's walking along the floor of the bar. Right at floor level. Nothing spectacular as a clue in the movie, but it was just an unusual piece of cinematography. Then, of course, there was the acting of M. Emmett Walsh in his part as the sleazebag private investigator. When he stretches his arm around the window frame and into the next apartment and reaches inside with his gloved hand, you just knew something gruesome was going to happen........... and it did. Another memorable scene, etched in my mind for occasional viewing for these many years. Good movie. Worth watching if you're into murder suspense films.

I watched 3 episodes and then decided not to waste my time watching any further shows. Entertaining? Yes. But the entire concept is not possible the way it's presented. Renting an apartment without a credit check (on a REAL SS number and name)? Not believable. Maybe in a skid-row room in a flop house, but not in the property pictured. Buying a car without paying a sales tax or any DMV fees? Then selling that car to a guy who stopped by and saw a FOR SALE sign on the car? Doesn't happen. Price negotiations before a test drive? Reminded me of Pawn Stars. There were other things that seemed quite illogical to me, so I decided to do some internet research........ hence, my comments here. Other interesting info about Glenn Stearns and his lending company is found with a simple search.

This show is a horrible production. They track 4 or 5 different hunters during the show and it's like watching Storage Wars: "Oh, what's this?"" and bam....... into a commercial. It's completely unrealistic in some of the filming. It is so distracting that I had to turn it off. I tried to get through it because it seems like an interesting subject, hunting huge Kodiak bears, but with all the jumping from one set of hunters to another, it was impossible to keep my interest.
