Absolute rubbish..
It was going well till I saw the mother gets brush and toothpaste to the father.. I mean, is this 2021 or 1970? That's too much exaggeration and looks like a deliberate attempt to vilify the men.
While I understand and hate the fact that some men don't get their own water and want everything to be served but this film has exaggerated it to something else..
They made it look like women doesn't have any say at least in small things like proper table manners. Any sane women would tell it to their face to eat properly n put the waste appropriately.. in this movie the fault is with the mother in law, forget about the old father, she couldn't teach her own son to eat properly..
Now, work after marriage point. Is the protagonist such stupid not to discuss such an important thing before marriage? She claims to be so forward thinking and being from forward thinking society (Kerala) she didn't discuss this before marry? How convenient to push the agenda!!
Now the Sabarimala issue. I think the whole and sole purpose of this movie for the director to give his perspective on Sabarimala issue. And I don't want to discuss further on this.
In many ways, the protagonist failed in this story. She gave up too early, she didn't discuss, contemplate, or fight to bring a change.. change is not brought by choreographing songs but to fix where the problem is. She had a great opportunity to change her house rather she escaped and chose a convenient way..
I gave 1 star because I always support the idea that men and women should equally share the household work and finances of the house. Both shud work a day job and take care of household. If one person decides to not to work outside, then her/his decision shud b respected, allowed to stay home and give them the deserving respect, I think past 20 yrs or so this has changed a lot..
