Family memories include uncles shot down in the Battle of Britain, in the Mediterranean, escaping from Italian POW camp and hiding with Partisans in the mountains to clearing out tunnels and rebuilding bridges as theAXIS forces were forced back. My generation did duty in Angola against the Soviet backed Cubans et al. The next generation will have their own struggles, and it won’t be climate change and the like. Freedom will have its price.
