This was easily the best show I have ever watched, I would suggest it to everyone if I could.
SPOILERS!!!!
This show portrays the realism that a lot teenagers go through, and I find it very hard to believe that is is glorifying teenage prostitution. The message in this show seems to want to give us a perspective into the struggles that are absolutely real! And overall Teenage struggle. I must add too that Chiara, and Ludo were being told to walk away from what they were doing before they wrecked their lives, and as well as Ludo saying. “I deserve better than this.” I feel like it is fair to say that they both knew what they were doing was not right! And towards the end started realizing how much it was destroying their relationships, and emotions.
Being a teenager myself I find there is immense pressure to be. “perfect.” Portrayed as a lot of characters within this show. When Chiara is talking to Domiano about why she is prostituting herself to older men, she mentions that it’s to show she’s not just some perfect girl like everyone thinks she is. She gets insane amounts of pressure from her parents, as well as a friend group to be perfect, which is why she shys away from Ludo in the start, who had a horrible reputation because of a sex tape that was released into the high school, which is a very real experience it’s self.
Brando’s story really stuck out to me. He spends his time bullying people and exposing people to fall further away from admitting his truth. His pressure from his homophobic dad, who again expected him fo be perfect, and uphold his reputation made him remain in the closet, until the end.
I love how the plot always came back to living a secret life. No matter how perfect someone seems they could be dealing with a lot of hardships.
I feel as though this show did a perfect job at portraying many things, friendship, being a teenager, drugs and prostitution, bullying etc… I could write a 100 page review about how this show is pure perfection. But this will do for now.
