I loved this book and didn't want it to end. I found myself limiting my reading to a chapter or two a day to savor the story - and I only do that with the best novels.
This is the kind of story that leaves you missing the main characters and wishing for more time to spend with them when the book is over. I connected with Sherri Taylor on so many levels, and loved that she was sometimes lovable but also very flawed. The research that was done for the book is apparent in just how real the story feels, and I learned so much about the Playboy empire and how the bunnies lived.
I loved Clancy's first novel, 'Second Home', and was so excited to read 'Shoulder Season'. I think this second book really demonstrates the author's talent and versatility. The stories and style were completely different between the two books, but both drew me in and kept me very engaged. The characters are genuine and relatable, and the author does a fantastic job of creating a backdrop for them that feels authentic and immersive. My only complaint is that there aren't more of her novels for me to read!
