Wolverine 360

Feels like I’ve seen this movie before… over and over again. Vikings, blood, boats, snow, fratricide, turgid dialogue, slow pacing, drums, chants, yawn. Excalibur anyone? (A much better movie.) An excellent cast, doing their best, with garbage. What a waste. And the ending of course. Took me back to the Holy Grail by Monty Python. Let’s call it a draw. 89% from the critics? What were they smoking and no, I don’t want any. I hate hallucinating. Enjoyed reading the one star reviews more than watching the movie. Better written and more entertaining. Plus no mumbling.

While the visual effects are gorgeous, the complete balderization of the story is, as others have said, disappointing but not surprising. The first episode was promising and I even liked the idea of the cloned emperors and the space elevator. In subsequent episodes the show collapsed as quickly as that elevator. Where is the conflict between encyclopedists and Salvor Harden and the appearance of Hari Seldon in the time vault to explain how the rivalry between the two factions of barbarians saved Terminus? The gratuitous additions are even worse. Gaal’s love affair, the assassination of Harden, Cleon’s family drama, the Imperial attack on the two planets. Perry Mason reruns (much better than this swill) have the perfect line to describe these additions - “incompetent, irrelevant, and immaterial.” The producer said that people have tried and failed over the last 50 years to bring the Foundation series to the screen. Turgid, slow, and disjointed, count this as another failure.
