"I'll see you in the trees"
Twin Peaks features perhaps the best mystery ever put to screen. "Who Killed Laura Palmer" may not seem like the most interesting thing, but what it spawned was. A show that delved into what goes on behind the curtains of a seemingly innocent small town and the life of the seemingly innocent homecoming queen. It has its soap opera moments, but they exist to provide a contrast for when the horrifying and surreal lynchian elements come into play. The terrifying Bob or the mysterious Black Lodge are pitched in the first few episodes, but aren't explained until the end. For every question it answers, it asks 5 more. It is necessary to talk about episodes 10-21 of season 2, as they are the product of studio interference and a lack of original writing. But the finale is worth it, and the first half of season 2 as well as season 1 and Fire Walk With Me are so excellent, that you have to look past it. The characters are entertaining, the mystery is compelling, the environment is perfect. Twin Peaks is a one of a kind show.
