Its an interesting combination of science, emotions and politics. The background of London, Oxford and China is beautiful and makes the narration reliable. Its about friendships and their progression, aliens and invasion looks like a subplot. This would have multiple seasons, a great start for sure!

All Quiet On The Western Front isn't a movie you could watch with popcorn and coke. It begins with a scene wherein blood soaked uniform of dead soldiers are being given to new recruits without even removing name tags. It's a stinging critic of war. Movie would tell you why WWII happened. 5/5

For me, Sandeep Unnikrishnan is a childhood hero. Still remember him and his team saving Mumbai during barbaric 26/11 terrorist attack. Major is an artistically made biopic on Sandeep, it's about his childhood, his mother, sister, father and wife. He tried to keep his 'twin' obligations though he found it painful. It's well researched and worth watching. 4.9/5

The Empire Struggle for Samarkand has been told in great detail which explains struggle of Babur well. Path from Fargana to Delhi wasn't easy, women played big role in that journey. A man who won great wars could not reslove disputes among his sons and died broken heart. Irony of human life has been shown beautifully.

Movie begins with a back ache and it continues throughout the movie. It symbolises the difficult and punishing life of protagonist. He is in his fifties, has recently has lost his wife and is on verge of losing his job which is his only distraction. Mundane has been made focus of the film and loneliness has been tackled without any sugar coating. Movie ends with hope and that is manifested in the form of healed back ache. These hundred minutes with screen would be worth, go for it.

A Suitable Boy is layered, nuanced and captivating. Set in years immediately after partition, it narrates story of adorable Lata. There are interlinked and parallel stories of Mann-Sayeda and agrirarian reforms. Full of emotions, proposals and heartbreaks. With Indian setting, its perhaps the best I have seen yet!

Movie grows slowly on you and towards the last it actually grips you. Sadashiv Rao was a warrior matched to none but he was not a good politicians and could not make the much needed alliances and movies shows it without any sugar coating. It's worth watching for its details, true facts and humanisation of characters. Great Cinema!
