This book is nothing short of amazing! The moment that I picked up the book, I was immediately captivated as the book captured my full attention. Needless to say, I was unable to put the book down as each chapter is filled with building blocks that leads us to the man that he transformed into and continued growth. I, Annette, had the pleasure of growing up near Willis. In fact, he and I also attended the same elementary school, high school and church together!. It was very refreshing to learn so many things about Willis that I never knew nor would I have ever guessed! What an exceptional man! The book provided many nostalgic memories of the "good old days." Willis did a wonderful job at recreating memories and vividly painting pictures that one can imagine and relate to, even if one isn't a native Saint Louisian unfamiliar to the local culture. The story of his marriage is beautiful and touching. The story of his work ethic and drive for something greater is very remarkable. The story of his path to becoming a first-time published author during what most would consider a "later" time in life is inspiring and aligns with the fact that our time is not His time and that's it's never too late to follow your heart. As Willis proclaims, “I believe if there is something that God has in store for you, it will happen within His plan.” This is certainly a story that you will not be disappointed in. The story gives way to many different emotions, but certainly many good laughs. Thank you for sharing this story with the world, Willis. :) <3
