Would give 0 stars. Trailer made it look like a comedy...funny scenes in pre-view turn out to be short clips from long, stupid scenes that are not funny in context. The entire thing is made more horrible by the ending where everyone forgives a complete a**hole (after he directly & intentionally ruins multiple people's lives) & no one holds him accountable for unacceptable behavior. Some movies "don't age well" but this movie's "humor" were considerably out of date long before it was released.

Amazing fight choreography! Really appreciate the fact that fight scenes without men didn't devolve into sexualized nonsense & the women didn't need to attribute their abilities to being magic/special/engineered/enhanced. Can hardly wait to see bonus features. Brave meets John Wick...finally a female lead that doesn't have to be brutalized or victimized before she can rise/stand up & demonstrate inner-strength! Only wish this movie had existed back in the days of gym class (pull-ups & climbing the rope would've seemed like relevant skills to master). I wouldn't mind future films depicting her continuing adventures (Lady Robin Hood-esk maybe) ...can't imagine this Princess'll just be sitting around the castle, parents looked plenty healthy so there's loads of time till she'd be needed to sit on the throne. Refreshing to represent the trope of "training montage" in bite-sized flashbacks.

I can enjoy a movie "so bad it's good" but this movie is just stupid...terrible CGI sharks, sudden & unexplained mist/fog & water depth changes, ect. Can we all just agree that writers be forced to consult actual humans that've actually experienced a thing before they write about human experience?! Only way any of it makes any kind of sense is if it turned out the entire thing was this woman's story to cover-up that time she murdered her husband on their tropical vacation...that ending (cut to her talking to police) would've been an amazing plot twist that'd change this movie to 5-stars for me...I'm going to pretend that scene exists, so I don't regret the run time worth of my life I'll never get back!

A few key points to consider when watching this movie: it's Russian, the issues people seem to have with the quality of the acting is because (for whatever reason) they're performing in English rather than it being a film performed in their native language & dubbed in English later. I think there are no flashbacks, instead I think they were going more for the idea that all points of time are existing. The action bits reminded me of the original Alien movie. What I can't understand is why it took them so long to recognized where they were. It was immediately apparent to me; how could they all fail to recognize the moon?! Why wouldn't the navigation computer be set up to recognize quasar? If they're good enough landmarks to include on the Voyager probe they should be good enough for this crew.

Opening from trailer missing from movie & with it ANY amount of backstory that might have given any of the characters any depth. The ENTIRE time I was asking "who are these people & why should I care what is happening to them?!" Normally if a film starts in the middle of the story there are a few flashbacks to justify consern /feeling/emotion so the audience can experience some connection to the characters on screen. The few "hints" (ex: mention that the captain had a kid at home, or, a picture of male with main female character with no context, is it her lover? Best friend? Kidney doner?) only serve to highlight the absence of character development.
