An excellent film about a particularly important struggle within the Catholic Church at this time. Beautifully filmed, great music, etc. But they let the cruel and conservative Benedict off lightly, given the series of sex and banking scandals during his tenure. Martel’s recent book, “In the Closet of the Vatican,” lays that all out in almost nauseating specificity. But if this film helps the Catholic Church to move forward in ways that benefit more people then I support it.
