This series gives an account of the devastating effects that the Playboy enterprise had on the women who worked for it. The argument that these women "had a choice" fails to take into account the various complexities that led these women to make the decisions that they did. Including financial needs, self-esteem, or career ambitions. Not to mention the culture of misogyny that Playboy embodied, as it promoted an image of "good, clean fun." The cycle of manipulation and intimidation that Hugh Hefner and those around him trapped these women in, was designed to instill the fear of coming forward. There is no time limit on someone speaking their truth and I'm glad these women were able to tell their stories and I hope it gave them some degree of peace.

One of the most underrated shows ever. I only recently discovered it after going down the Wikipedia rabbit hole. I can see why it didn't do well in the ratings. It's more of an anti-romantic comedy. One that doesn't give the audience the big pay off where the girl gets the guy. But that's the reason why I like it. Also, the main character engages in inappropriate behavior that a lot of people won't be inclined to want to understand; which doesn't make her a sympathetic character. But the point of the show is about mental health - -its complexities and how people in general don't fit perfectly into one category or another. Having struggled with my own mental health and how its impacted my relationships I can totally relate. Whenever I'm feeling alone and depressed about my own state in life, watching this show makes me feel seen.

Unwatchable. I didn't find this relatable even though I'm in the target audience: woman in their mid-40s. In my humble opinion, ironic dialogue works best either with visuals or more subtle gestures and vocal tones. The actresses all seemed to be trying too hard making it painful to watch.
