This show is absolutely beautiful. IU's acting is top notch as always and I love her portrayal of childhood glee in the first few episodes. And the snow scene where Wang Wook makes Hae Soo(IU) walk in her steps is so heavenly. She looks like a goddess. But the show turns dark very fast. Family ripping apart their ties and throwing away their loved ones for the throne, it was very sad to see so many people die in the process. (wont mention because that'd be a huge spoiler). That being said, I still love the ending (despite popular opinion). It's perfectly executed and Hae Soo's character stays true to herself till the very end. I love Lee Joon Gi's acting skills. He can pull of a bloody monarch as well as a soft guy. But there's only one thing that troubled me. He was always desperate for love and hated his mother for abandoning him. But at the same time he also abandoned his own child which was a bit cruel. OST is amazing. Best one ever. Cast is well picked. Flawless story. Recommend this show 1000/100!!!!!
