I am a bit disappointed in the TV series considering it missed all the philosophical points of the comic and 2009 movie. It is definite that the timeline starts when Dr. Manhattan falls in love with Angela, but why he falls in love in the first place. Once he has stopped caring about humanity, why for just the sake of Angela he is coming to save the earth again? Now all the woke culture.. It was unnecessary to put all the violence and connect to the present day. Just to become politically correct, lead roles are given to blacks, Asians and homosexuals. The show tells there is reverse discrimination happening but does nothing to address it. They fail to address the root cause i.e. violence. Unless there is reconciliation, there will be more groups like Cyclops. Also, the BLM protests have made it difficult to put the genuine grievances to put forward.
