Mesmerizing! It does not get any funkier and soulful than Black Messiah. With such superb musicianship it might be easy to be swept away by the funk and not pay close attention to the songwriting. Unlike a lot of popular modern music, the album is not composed of overly dependent on the music to set mood. The lyrics provide an appropriate accompaniment to the music’s calibre. Extraordinary through and through. Timeless, timeless music.

The soundtrack is so off-base and insane..I lost interest.
Where we should have mystical, otherworldly ancient melodies we have the top 10 hits from a jukebox from a hole in the wall before happy hour begins.
BJORK was all they needed. She has tones for every emotion the scenes call for.

I'm not quite sure why the critics trashed the movie so mercilessly because it was quite good. With a strong narrative, and convincing portraits of the original characters, the movie proved to be quite convincing from beginning to end. While I would have like to see more action, I was not disappointed at all.
