My husband and I enjoyed the film and Dylan’s appreciation for the music, which we loved. It’s a way for a younger audience, familiar with The Wallflowers, to get exposure to some of the “influencers” of an earlier time. Some of it might even be new info for long time fans. For instance, the vocal arrangement of “Go Where You Wanna Go” is more clearly a conversation than the original, and Michele Philip’s interview gave us a personal look into the lyrics. “Echoes” isn’t a comprehensive documentary of the Laurel Canyon life, but much as other artists have done American Songbook collections, they made their choices and the edited coverage is a pleasure to listen to and see.
