This game...oh boi. I haven’t made it past the four hour mark, in fact I just finished the second world and I’m already over it. They nerfed the hell out of Sora, no more drive forms so if you loved the second game, you’re going to hate this one..most likely. Our main character is getting smack talked by all the baddies and blow him off like yesterday’s paper. I feel no real tension or sense of immersion. I can already tell the story is going to be stale and I’m watching a let’s play at this point. Why aren’t there any final fantasy characters? Did Disney pay for all the slots to be taken? Where’s cloud, Leon, yuffie, maybe some newer FF people like noctis? Huge missed opportunity. Kingdom hearts is a blend of the FF and Disney. One can’t exist in this game without the other and they did it anyways. The constant need to shove Disney rides in my face while I’m in combat was driving me MAD. I don’t give two **** about spinning in tea cups and riding firework trains when I’m fighting the rock titan. Oh and that’s the other thing. This game is too easy. I’ve yet to use a single potion and I’m playing on proud mode. The voice actors...cringey...soooo cringey. The lines are poor and whoever let this go needs to be fired. What did they do to my boy Riku? Why does he look like he aged slightly backwards? His lines were some of the worst to hear, empty and lacking any heart. All the villains seem like they’re disorganized and doing there own thing. Also, if you did not play all the side games like chain of memories, birth by sleep, 358/2 days and more...prepare to be completely lost as to who people are or what is happening. Why couldn’t square develop a full recap video? I don’t care if I sit and watch cutscenes for an hour, at least I’m not being forced to go find it elsewhere or play the other titles if I want to know what is going on. If you love Disney, I’m sure you will find some enjoyment out of this but for me, it’s a hard no. All the fans who grew up with the first and second game on the ps2 are in there 20’s/30’s. This game was dumbed down and pandered to children. I wish I’d never bought this trash and retained the memory of how great the second game was. Cheers.
