I honestly don't get all the criticism. Crimes of Grindelwald is my favourite movie in the wizarding world yet. I grew up on the Harry Potter books, I have lived and breathed them my entire life, and I disagree with all of the complaints about changing book canon. Yes, there are definitely some surprising choices that they'll have to be careful how the proceed with, but there are many ways to explain any of the potential 'changes' in a way that will fit in to the canon of the Wizarding world. I've complained about a lot of changes to canon in the original Harry Potter movies, but aside from a small anachronistic cameo I think that canon has remained intact and they've managed to surprise me. That's not easy to do with something we already know the eventual outcome of. I love the Crimes of Grindelwald and I wish everyone else did too.
