Good, Bad and Ugly
Good:
1. Hats off to Anandhi for her excellent acting, I just loved the way she speaks Tamil. The scene in which she closed her eyes and expresses her love to Perumal was awesome. Jo's dress was nice and conservative. As for Anandhi's eyes and looks: "oh my God, you did a good job of it". The scene in which Jo says "Ten thousand Devadais will come for Perumal" was sweet. The scene in which Jo asks Perumal to look at her face and told him him "See my Face, It is Happy now" with tears in her eyes was great.
2. Three cheers to Kathir, for his excellent acting and really showing the affection to Jo in a very subtle way. The scene in which Perumal smiles at Jo at Jo's request and tells Jo that she can say what ever Jo wants to tell him without any pre-conditions in reply to her expression of love to him was heart rendering.
3. The song "Potta Kattil Poovasam will stay in the music world for a long time.
Bad
Violent scenes: Was it necessary to show so many violent scenes? India is a peaceful country and Mahatma Gandhi preached Non-violence, children of Indian origin might question so many violent scenes in an Indian Movie.
Ugly
The name "Karuppi" for the black dog was not correct and "UNacceptable", it looked too racial, one should not point out the color and used the world "Black" either for a human being or for a faithful animal.
Conclusion: I gave my vote to "Periyerum Perumal" for the best picture in 2018.
