I do appreciate the performances of the actors involved and the direction is just on song when it comes to storytelling.
However when you look at the big picture you fail to understand the purpose of the movie. It's a love story for most parts of the movie and suddenly becomes all about organised crime and the ending is too abrupt without any character getting justice of their own. They showed a sequence where one of the bosses spills it all on the wire and yet they wait for Ginger to get arrested to make a move and she doesn't even tell anything and even goes scot-free...
Somehow 1+1=3 in this movie and I believe it was a tad bit over rated because people enjoy being a connoisseur of art while watching a Scorsese movie... He is a human after all.
