I played the game at launch on ps4, it was horribly misleading. I hated being misled and felt betrayed.
I played it today on my PC, four years later, and I am truly speechless... Hello games kept working on the game all this time, and it looks so much better, much closer to what it was supposed to be according to the misleading hype that Sean Murray built himself with his own two hands back then...
Honestly I tip my hat off to them for continuing the development.
It takes a lot of guts to withstand the scorn and contempt of the entire world of gaming, which is precisely what they did - and still proceed working on the game, persevering to make good on their word.
Granted - if they'd not sold all those copies back then, and made ALL that money 💰 from us disgruntled (& honestly, cheated), enthusiastic gamers.... They wouldn't have been able to produce what they did.
Or would they have?
We'll never know. But the metacritic acore of 61 remains, forever reminding the world of the catastrophic launch. Hopefully more users will give it a second chance.
I'm glad I did!
