For anyone who grew up reading the books, you’ll know within the first 10 minutes just how much they’ve unnecessarily changed. Normally movie adaptations do this, but what they’ve done is shot any sequel potential. Not that I want one. The books are amazing, even as an adult I still love them. But the movie is by no means true to the book. On top of the plot holes (from changing details) and unnecessary changes. The acting is very bad. Mainly Artemis. I understand that the actor is young to fit the correct age, but if anything we would have excused the age of the actor being changed a little than everything else they’ve done. I will admit, Colin as Artemis SR and Josh as Mulch is perfect. But as these aren’t the character we should be focusing on for every scene... it can’t resurrect this movie. I was really looking forward to my favourite childhood books being put on the big screen. But sadly Disney butchered it. As a huge Disney fan I had high hopes and they were very much not met. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who has read the books, as it will frustrate you. And maybe don’t watch if you can’t stand cringy bad acting.
